He referred to the keen interest evinced by the United Progressive Alliance Government at the Centre to develop Pondicherry. The Central Government was frequently deputing a few Ministers to monitor implementation of various schemes here. The students of the Scheduled Caste community were now provided hostel accommodation on private premises in villages; once the Government-owned buildings were ready they would be accommodated there.
