SANGAREDDY, NOV. 28. Eleven persons died in road accidents in Medak, Mahabubnagar and West Godavari districts on Sunday. Four persons died on the spot when a car proceeding towards Hyderabad hit a seven-seater autorickshaw near Dharmaram on the Siddipet-Ramayampet road. Three of the dead were identified as Bobbi Kanakayya (30) of Dharmaram, Sajan Singh (70) of Birpur, Nizamabad, and the autorickshaw driver, Mohammed Syed (22). The identity of another person is yet to be ascertained. All the injured were shifted to Gandhi hospital in Secunderabad. In another accident, a person, identified as Maheswar (45), and his wife Sunija (40) died when the car in which they were travelling was hit by a truck on the NH-9 near Kavli village under the Kohir police station limits. Their daughter was severely injured and admitted to Gandhi hospital. The truck driver is absconding. According to a report from Kurnool, two persons died and two others sustained injuries when the car in which they were travelling hit a culvert and fell into a canal near Alampur cross road in Mahabubnagar district. A retired teacher, Adinarayana, 65, and his son, Veerasekhar, died in the mishap. The driver, Gopal, and a woman, Rajeswari, sustained injuries. The victims hailed from Aluru in Kurnool district.
Farm workers killed
According to a report from Eluru, three agricultural workers were killed and two others critically injured in a road accident at Allampuram under the limits of Pentapadu police station in West Godavari district. According to the police, the dead were identified as Basetti Venkata Rao (38), Penugorti Ganesh (20) of Allampuram and Valluri Sivaram Babu (18) of Kagulampadu. The condition of the injured -- Kaldari Rambabu and Kadagatta Prasad of Kagulampadu -- who are under treatment at a hospital at Tanuku is stated to be critical. The mishap occurred when a lorry coming in the opposite direction hit them when they were going to fields on bicycles.
