Death of Gaur's son condoled

BHOPAL, NOV. 28. Senior leaders have condoled the death of Purushottam, son of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Babulal Gaur, who died of a massive cardiac arrest yesterday.

The former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the BJP President, Lal Krishna Advani, the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh Sah Sarkaryavah, Madandas Devi, the Chhattisgarh Governor, K.M. Seth, and the former BJP President, Venkaiyah Naidu, conveyed their condolences to the Chief Minister over telephone.

The Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Raman Singh, Assembly Speaker Prem Prakash Pandey, Home Minister Brijmohan Agrawal and the former Chhattisgarh BJP President, Nandkumar Sai, arrived here this morning to pay their condolences.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mulayam Singh, BJP General Secretary, Arun Jaitly, former Union Ministers, Murli Manohar Joshi and Vikram Verma, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Ministers, Sunderlal Patwa and Digvijay Singh, the former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Ajit Jogi, State Congress President, Subhash Yadav and the Member of Parliament, Jyotiraditya Scindia, have also conveyed their condolences to the Chief Minister.

Senior leaders of political parties and dignitaries, including the Union Minister, Suresh Pachauri, attended Purushottam's cremation here today. Also present to pay their tributes were State Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, senior administrative officers, representatives of social organizations and prominent citizens.

Paying tributes at the Subhash Nagar Vishram Ghat, the State BJP President, Kailash Joshi, recalled Purushottam's simplicity saying that he did not have even an iota of arrogance and never tried to misuse his father's position.
