The Kanchi Sankaracharya, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi's lawyers met him in the central prison here on Sunday afternoon and informed him about the bail petitions coming up before the Madras High Court and the Principal Sessions Court, Chennai on Monday. Talking to newspersons after the hour-long meeting with the Acharya, Mr. Dinakaran said he had informed the Acharya that his petition seeking bail in the Sankararaman murder case would come up for hearing in the Madras High Court. Another petition seeking bail in the case pertaining to the assault on a former Kanchi Mutt associate, Radhakrishnan, his wife and an attendant in Mandaveli in Chennai two years ago would come up in the Principal Sessions Court, Chennai. In reply to a question, Mr. Dinakaran said there was no question of any appeal in the Supreme Court in the two cases. Earlier, a four-member government medical team led by the Deputy Director of Medical and Rural Health Services, Purushotham Vijayakumar examined the Acharya. The team included cardiologist Thirumal Babu, physician Shanmugasundaram and the prison doctor, Kumaresan. The team checked the Acharya's heart beat, pulse rate, blood pressure and urine sugar level.
