Weather

Forecast: Mainly clear sky. Slight fall in night temperature. Minimum temperature would be around 19 degree Celsius. In Waltair, the maximum temperature was 30.3 degree Celsius and the minimum was 22.5 degree Celsius on Sunday. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 61 per cent and at 5.30 p.m was 64 per cent.

At Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 32.2 degree Celsius and 20.6 degree Celsius respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 69 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. was 59 per cent.

The maximum and minimum temperatures at the Dolphin's Nose were 30.2 degree Celsius and 18.7 degree Celsius. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 68 per cent.

Painting contest

Lalit Kala Parishad invites entries on any topic from schoolchildren for the all-India art competition for children and youth (2004-05) `Dream Colours painting contest. The contest is in four categories, Std. I to IV, Std. V to VII, Std. VIII to X and Plus 2. The entries must reach its honorary secretary, at 18-70-11 Kothasalipeta, Visakhapatnam-530002, on or before December 1. Details can be had by ringing up 0891-2508310.

Medical camp

The Rotary Club of Visakha Port City conducted a multi-speciality medical camp at Conveyor Belt slums in ward No.1 on Saturday. According to the club president, Anuradha Reddy, 670 patients were screened and provided free medicines.

Workshop

The Swadesi Jagran Manch, Visakha Integral Social Organisations' Association (VISA) and Gram Bharat on Sunday organised a workshop on "Village-based products: marketing strategies and challenges."

The SJM all-India convenor, P. Muralidhara Rao, and VISA vice-president, Ashok Kumar Hirawat, spoke. Toys from Etikoppaka, jute bags and kalamkari work on display in an exhibition organised on the occasion.
