KOCHI, NOV. 28. A two-day meeting of women journalists held at Thattekkad, near Kothamangalam, has demanded improved working conditions for women in media institutions across the State. The meeting, which concluded today, demanded legal provisions for protection of mediapersons against the increasing attacks on them; bringing the electronic media under the purview of the Working Journalists Act; steps to protect jobs of mediapersons given the increasing trend of contract jobs; and setting up of anti-sexual harassment committees in all media institutions. A resolution adopted at the meeting condemned the attack on journalists in the State capital on Saturday. The meet was organised by the State Women's Commission at Palamattom Birds Lagoon, Thattekkad, near Kothamangalam.
