Home guard attempts suicide

HYDERABAD,
NOV. 28.
Reportedly dejected over removal from service, a home guard, Sheikh Shah Vali (35) attempted suicide near a senior police officer's residence on Road No. 70 in Prashasan Nagar here on Sunday night.
He was rushed to Osmania General Hospital where doctors said his condition was critical.
The police officer's residence comes under Jubilee Hills police jurisdiction. Despite repeated calls on his mobile, the Jubilee Hills police station night duty officer did not respond and a constable after receiving the call said the officer was in the hospital to record the statement of the home guard.
