International telemedicine meet in March

BANGALORE, NOV. 29. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will hold a three-day international telemedicine conference focusing on health-delivery systems from March 17.

The conference will discuss healthcare requirements of SAARC (South-Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) countries, Africa and Southeast Asia. Healthcare providers, doctors, administrators, equipment suppliers and technologists are expected to take part in the conference.

At present, 60 remote district hospitals have been connected with 20 super-specialty hospitals using INSAT as part of ISRO's telemedicine programme.
