MADURAI, NOV.29. The All-India Moovendar Munnani Kazhagam leader, N. Sethuraman, today sought a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the alleged manpower manipulations in medical colleges during Medical Council of India inspections. "The Government should come out with a white paper on the issue because the doctors were not solely responsible for the irregularity. The reasons as to who was actually responsible for sending doctors on temporary deputation to Kanyakumari, Tuticorin and Tirunelvei medical colleges during MCI inspections early this year should be investigated," he said in a release today. Dr. Sethuraman said the punishment given to 10 doctors in the State should be suspended till the probe was completed. A section of doctors were abiding to the diktats of corrupt politicians with a selfish motive to get plum postings, he added.
