PONDICHERRY, NOV. 29. A `quality assessment and monitoring of works cell' will soon be formed in the Local Administration Department to ensure that the quality of civil works undertaken by the civic bodies was up to the mark. The civic bodies have been utilising funds provided both on the basis of routine allocation of grants and also under the MLA Area Development programme to meet their requirements. The infrastructural needs, particularly in the rural areas have been expanding rapidly. Roads, buildings to house anganwadi centres, community halls and other structures are required in the villages, said an official source.
