Power supply to hospital cut
CUDDAPAH,
NOV. 29.
Officials of the APTransco disconnected power supply to the Government hospital at Proddatur on Monday, owing to non-payment of arrears of about Rs. 7 lakhs.
The disconnection led to cancellation of surgeries and doctors faced difficulty in attending to even emergency cases. The lone generator in the hospital was pressed into service in the afternoon and emergency cases attended to. The Hospital Superintendent, Rameshnath, had written to the Government following a notice served by Transco to pay the arrears within a stipulated time frame.
