Arrested for robbery

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, NOV. 29. Three persons have been arrested by the North-East Delhi police for allegedly being involved in cases of robbery reported from various factories in North-East Delhi and Ghaziabad.

According to the police, one member of a gang which had tried to commit a robbery in a metal factory in neighbouring Sahibabad had been shot at by a security guard on November 12 night. He was admitted to a hospital. Later, he told the police about other gang members. At his instance, the police arrested three of them from Gokulpur village on Sunday night. Two of them managed to escape after opening fire. Those arrested have been identified as Param Hans, Bansi and Singhasan. The police said the gang used to target factories dealing in metals in North-East Delhi, Ghaziabad and Sahibabad. The receiver of stolen property, Raja Ram, used to arrange a Tata-407 truck for the transportation of looted goods.

Two of the accused had come to the Capital in search of a job and gradually got involved in the crime at Bansi's behest. He had earlier worked as a labourer in Ludhiana where he had begun stealing nickel from the factory he was working in. Further investigations in the case are on.
