Man drives into YSR's street, hits escort car
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
NOV. 29.
A man drove to a street leading to the Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy's residence, and hit an escort vehicle while beating a hasty retreat on seeing a posse of police. He had mistook the street for a regular thoroughfare.
A resident of Domalguda, Palani Swami, a driver, was returning home after going out with his family in his master's vehicle. On reaching Satyasainigamagamam in Srinagar colony, he turned to a street not knowing that it would lead to the CM's residence.
The street leading to BB-1 gate had a check-post. However, the gate had been lifted a few minutes before as some letters were delivered at the CM's residence. Failing to notice the check-post, Swami drove on.
Hasty retreat
Seeing a large contingent of security guards , Swami panicked and reversed the vehicle, in the process hitting the escort vehicle damaging its number plate. Swami then sped away.
The Banjara Hills police registered a case under section 279 (driving rashly on a public way) of IPC and traced the vehicle to Domalguda. Swami was arrested and released on bail on Sunday.
