Dies in wall

A construction worker, Sandani, 19, was killed when a building's compound wall collapsed on him on Sunday in Bowenpally. A military truck had hit the wall following brake failure. Sandini, who was standing beside the wall, sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to the military hospital where doctors pronounced him brought dead.

Detained

in bank

A director of Presidency College, G. Mahender Reddy, was allegedly detained by State Bank of India `personal credit' wing employee, Chalapathi Rao and others in connection with repayment of a loan taken by an employee of the college, M. J. Eshwari. According to police, Rao detained Reddy when the latter went to the bank's Ashok Bhopal Chamber office. He was let off only after giving a written undertaking that he would ensure repayment of loan by Eshwari.

steals cash

An amount of Rs. 1.40 lakh was stolen from the premises of Kavita Catering Agency office in Begumbazar allegedly by one of the workers, Subhash. According to the agency owner, he kept the money in a suitcase and handed it over to the manager, Maruthi, who kept it aside on Saturday night. Subhash was found absconding from Sunday morning, the Begumbazar police said.
