Consumer index up
SHIMLA,
NOV. 30.
An increase in prices of whole wheat, vegetables and fruits pushed up the all India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) for October by 3 points to 526. The index during October last year had increased by 4 points, the Labour Bureau said here today. The point-to-point rate of inflation declined from 4.81 per cent in September to 4.57 per cent in October this year. In October 2003, it was 3.29 per cent.
