VISAKHAPATNAM, NOV. 30. Hyderabad starts favourite to retain its men's and women's titles in the 29th senior Inter-district basketball championships, commencing at the Port Indoor Stadium here on Wednesday. Last year Anantapur men and Ranga Reddy women were runners-up. The tournament would be held on a league-cum-knockout format. The 23 men's teams have been divided into five pools with the top two teams from each pool making it to the knockout pre-quarterfinals phase. The 16 women teams have been divided into four pools and the top two teams of each pool would qualify for the knockout quarterfinals. The final will be held on December 4.
