Vijayawada
By Our Special Correspondent
VIJAYAWADA, NOV. 30. The Vijayawada city committee of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions has demanded that the Government take steps to increase the minimum wages being paid to workers. The CITU also wanted that Government not to allow foreign direct investment in core sectors. Resolutions to this effect were passed during the three-day meeting of the CITU and affiliated organisations held here from November 27 to 29. Over 200 delegates representing 33 CITU-affiliated organisations attended the meeting.
