Covert walks to freedom
By Our Staff Reporter
WARANGAL,
NOV. 30.
The covert, Kagithoju Brahmachari alias Laxman, on Tuesday reached the Mulug police station after he was released by the Adivasi Liberation Tigers (ALT).
According to the police, Laxman, who was taken captive four days ago, was let off by extremists near the Mulug forest area. From the police station he was brought to district police headquarters by the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Rajesh Kumar.
When reached for comment, the Superintendent of Police, K. Srinivasa Reddy, confirmed that Laxman was in their custody.
The SP said Laxman was in a bad shape as he was thrashed by ALT activists. "We are getting him treated first. We are also interrogating him about the dumps and his movements in the forest,'' he added.
