ELURU, NOV 30. The Minister for Endowments, M. Satyanarayana Rao, has urged the Congress high command to take into account the views of the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, and the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) while taking the final decision on the issue of separate Telangana. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Rao said he favoured an extensive debate on the issue. "The statehood issue raised by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi cannot be brushed aside in the light of emergence of similar demands from Rayalaseema and other regions,'' he observed. He recounted the contribution of Congress leaders from Telangana in getting its `due' from the Centre. He cited the Six-Point Formula and the constitution of the sub-committee as the major achievements of Congressmen from the region. Meanwhile, speaking at an official programme in the Denduluru constituency, the Minister favoured induction of the local MLA, Maganti Babu, in the Cabinet. However, in the next breath he quipped: "After all, it is the choice of the Chief Minister."
