Telangana State part of UPA programme, says Pawar

NEW DELHI,
NOV. 30.
The Union Agriculture Minister, Sharad Pawar, today said creation of Telangana State was part of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government's programme.
Speaking after releasing a CD on "The Story of Telangana,'' Mr. Pawar recalled that only last week the issue of Telangana was raised at the UPA meeting where the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, was also present.
He felt that the aspirations of the people of Telangana should be fulfilled.
Mr. Pawar said separate Telangana would be viable and people of the region would be able to resolve their problems.
He said the CD would put the issue in proper perspective.
The Union Labour Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and the Union Minister of State for Rural Development, A. Narendra, were present.
