Around the City

Mainly clear sky forecast

The sky will be mainly clear on Wednesday. The minimum temperature will be around 15 degrees Celsius, according to the forecast for Bangalore.

On Tuesday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 28.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 15 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 46 per cent.

The maximum and minimum temperatures at the airport were 27 degrees Celsius and 14.3 degrees Celsius, respectively. The relative humidity was 33 per cent.

Shrimp farming

The University of Agricultural Sciences has organised a workshop on "Policy issues for sustainable shrimp farming in Asia" on December 9 at Hotel Ashraya International. Scientists from France, Thailand, U.K., Vietnam and Bangladesh will attend the workshop.

Flag Day march

The Armed Forces Flag Day march will be held on December 9 under the aegis of the Department of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement. The event is being organised to create awareness on Armed Forces and for expressing solidarity with the Defence personnel and ex-servicemen. The march will start at Vidhana Soudha and culminate at the Maneckshaw Parade Ground.

Training

The Rural Women Self-employment Training Institute, Harohalli, will conduct a 15-day free training programme for women in "Food processing, catering and making bakery products" from December 13. Canara Bank Platinum Jubilee Rural Development Trust is sponsoring the programme.

Those who have passed the seventh standard examination and are between 18 and 35 are eligible to apply.

Camp

The International Reiki Foundation Trust will hold a free camp for those suffering from migraine headache and diabetes every Saturday starting from December 11. Those interested may call 23521100/23322316.

Workshop

A bonsai workshop will be conducted by the Field Information Centre, Lalbagh, on December 10. Those interested may call 26564133.

Yoga

Arogya Mandira near ISKCON Temple, Rajajinagar, will conduct a one-month yoga course from December 6 for those suffering from asthma, hypertension, diabetes and obesity. Those interested may call 23578375/23579755.

Eye camp

Dr. Agrawal Hospitals will conduct free eye consultation camps for the needy everyday till December 31. Those interested may call 25730853.

Speech therapy

Karan's Hypnosis Centre will conduct a workshop from December 3 to 11 on speech therapy and stammering.
