CHENNAI, DEC. 1. Top two-wheeler companies have reported a mixed sales trend in November 2004. Hero Honda and TVS Motor Company have seen sales slide when compared to the October numbers. Bajaj Auto, however, has reported a sequential rise in sales figure. Hero Honda said it had sold 2.36 lakh motorcycles in November, up from 2.04 lakh units sold during the same month last year. The company, however, sold 2.46 lakh vehicles in October. The company, which had sold over two lakh two-wheelers in the past three successive months, had yet again said that capacity constraints had indeed capped its growth. Bajaj Auto reported improved two-wheeler sales at 1.66 lakh units for November, up from 1.13 lakh units sold in the same month in the previous year. The Rahul Bajaj-led company had, in fact, showed a sequential rise in the sales number in November compared to October when it sold 1.58 lakh vehicles. Nearer home, TVS Motor said it sold 1.08 lakh two-wheelers in November, showing a 26 per cent growth compared to the same month last year. The Chennai-based company, however, had reported sales of 1.18 lakh units in October this year. TVS Motor sold 65,066 motorcycles in November compared to 48,052 units in the same period last year. The robust growth in motorcycle sales, the company claimed, was due to good demand for TVS Victor and TVS Centra. TVS Victor GX 110 CC, it claimed, had received excellent response.
