Letters to the Editor
Sir, It was amusing to read Aishwarya Rai's remark, "The Taj is a beautiful piece of architecture, more beautiful than me" (Dec. 2). It is surprising how a comparison is sought to be made between an architectural marvel that has withstood centuries of heat and dust, and a mortal human being whose beauty is just skin deep. One is reminded of Shakespeare's lines: "Golden lads and girls all must, as chimney-sweepers, come to dust" (Cymbeline, IV, 2)
