PONDICHERRY, DEC. 2. Twelve persons, including three children, were admitted to the Government General Hospital here during the last two days for treatment of gastroenteritis. The 12, who are from Sinnapet village in Tirubuvanai near here, had reportedly consumed water collected from a pit. G. Subramania Reddy, Director of Health and Family Welfare Services, said today that the patients had been given intensive treatment and were out of danger. A team of doctors of the hospital rushed to the village as soon as complaints of gastroenteritis were reported to prevent its spread, an official source said.
