By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, DEC. 2. With just three days left for the Babri Masjid demolition anniversary, which falls on December 6, security has been stepped up at railway stations, bus termini and other vital installations.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) today intensified security measures at all major stations in and around Chennai, including Chennai Central, Egmore and Perambur.

They are keeping round-the-clock vigil.

Metal detectors installed

Passengers have been asked to go through three metal detectors installed at the main gate of Chennai Central. All other entrances remained closed.

Assisted by a bomb detection and disposal squad and sniffer dogs, the RPF teams thoroughly checked the baggage of passengers.

Parcels at Chennai Central are being cleared after scrutiny.
