Digital Persona, the U.S. based provider of fingerprint authentication solutions, and its Indian partner, ADC Systems, have announced the launch of fingerprint based identity management system.
The product `Pro 3.0' is a total password automation solution. It eliminates the security risks associated with the traditional password based authentication. The product comes with sleek fingerprint scanner and workstation software.
Samuel Wu of Digital Persona said the product would enable users to sign into virtually any application with just the touch of a finger. The fingerprint authentication was more reliable than the traditional password based authentication, he said.
According to C. Meena, Managing Director, ADC Systems, the features of the product included a password management application, which would enable end-users to log on to virtually any network or application with a touch of the fingerprint reader.
