ALAPPUZHA, DEC. 3. The IUML Alappuzha district vice-president and State council member, Kamal M. Makkiyil, has been dismissed from the party. The IUML mouthpiece, Chandrika, quoting the State leadership said yesterday that Mr. Kamal had been dismissed on charges of anti-party activities. In a statement here a week back, Mr. Makkiyil said the Industries Minister, P.K. Kunhalikutty, should prove his innocence. He had stated that he had difference of opinion with the style of functioning of some IUML leaders and a purification should be carried out in the party. He had also supported the view expressed by the former MP V.M. Sudheeran that some of the IUML leaders in Alappuzha were to blame for his failure in the Lok Sabha elections.
