50 diarrhoea cases in Chirala

DEC. 3.
About 50 persons fell ill with diarrhoea and vomiting in Gavinivaripalem and its surrounding hamlets in Chirala mandal on Friday. Of them, four persons were admitted to a Chirala hospital and three in a Bapatla hospital. A team of doctors and paramedical staff visited the villages and distributed ORS packets and medicine. Lack of proper sanitation and contaminated drinking water are responsible for diarrhoea, according to them.
Nakkala Ankaiah, Sarpanch, said the condition of Gavini Nagamalleswari (20) was serious.
