`Nomination mela' in sight

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, DEC. 3. There is good news for desperate Congress leaders seeking nominated posts. The `nomination mela' is just a couple of weeks away.

Sources in the party confirmed today that the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, was keen on completing the exercise - perhaps at one go - soon after the winter session of the Assembly.

The choice of constituting temple and market committees, except the important ones, would be left to MLAs and district in-charge Ministers.

As for the Cabinet expansion, the Chief Minister seemed to be in no hurry. However, a change of portfolios of a couple of Ministers was not being ruled out. Some of the Ministers were unhappy over their present portfolios while the Chief Minister himself was reportedly unhappy with the performance of some.
