By Our Staff Reporter
BANGALORE,
DEC. 3.
Soon, Hutch and Reliance mobile phone users in the State will be able to book railway tickets through their phones. The Bangalore Railway Divisional Manager, Mahesh Kumar, told The Hindu that the service modalities were being worked out. He hoped that an announced could be made by early next week.
He said users of Hutch and Reliance services would have to key in their credit card numbers and send them to an interactive system. The service providers would then process the calls and book the tickets via Internet.
It was an extension of the Internet booking facility available to Railway passengers already, he added.
