Misty morning, cloudy evening

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, DEC. 3.DEC. 3.DEC. 3 A mainly clear sky likely to become partly cloudy towards afternoon or evening is in store for the Capital on Saturday. According to the weatherman, there would be mist or fog in the morning. The minimum temperature is likely to be around 11 degrees Celsius.

The maximum and minimum temperature on Friday at Safdarjung was 27.2 degrees Celsius and 11.7 degrees Celsius respectively. At Palam, the maximum and minimum temperature was 26.2 degrees Celsius and 12.4 degrees Celsius respectively.

The maximum relative humidity at Safdarjung and Palam was 91 and 88 per cent respectively while the minimum humidity was 26 per cent and 39 per cent.

Man commits suicide

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, DEC. 3.DEC. 3.DEC. 3 A 32-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling in a workshop at Shahdara in North-East Delhi on Thursday night. He was apparently facing an acute financial crisis.

According to the police, Prem Kumar used to work as a scooter mechanic in a workshop at Subhash Place in Shahdara. His father-in-law used to run a tea stall adjacent to the workshop.

Today, Prem's father-in-law reached his stall and noticed that the door of the workshop was locked from inside. He knocked on the door but there was no response. Subsequently, he informed the police. The police broke open the door and found Prem's body hanging from the ceiling with the help of a rope.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Prem had been married for the past six years and had three children. He was passing through a phase of depression owing to his financial crisis.

A case has been registered at Shahdara police station and further investigations are on.

Teacher held for molestation

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, DEC. 3.DEC. 3.DEC. 3 A primary school teacher has been arrested on the charge of molesting a Class III student at Mehrauli in South Delhi. The police identified the accused as Naseer Ahmed Siddiqui. The victim narrated the whole incident to her parents, who informed the police and got the teacher arrested. Further investigations are on.
