Students pay homage to Bhopal gas victims

HYDERABAD,
DEC.3.
Over six lakh National Green Corps (NGC) students belonging to 12,500 schools in the State paid homage to the victims of Bhopal gas tragedy of December 3, 1984, by observing two-minute silence on Friday.
The Principal Secretary of School Education, S. Chellappa, released a manual, `Green Schools Programme' developed by the Centre for Science and Environment to assess the environmental activity in schools. The manual guides the students about the benefits of managing water, energy, biodiversity, waste and land use in schools.
