TIRUCHI, DEC. 4 . A compilation of renowned Tamil scholar Devaneya Paavanar's works and his research Devaneyam will be released here tomorrow. His complete works have been condensed in 14 volumes of which 13 are in Tamil and the 14th one in English. To be released through the Paavanar Foundation, the works have been compiled over two year by a team of Tamil scholars headed by Era. Illankumaranar, founder of Thiruvalluvar Thavachalai at Allur near here. Speaking to mediapersons here last evening, Mr. Era. Illankumaranarthe said the compilation of the scholar's work on various subjects including literature, etymology, background of Tamil race, history, root of words etc. would serve as an encyclopaedia and solid data base for Tamil language lovers, students and scholars. In his lifetime, Devaneya Paavanar had written 62 books on various subjects with each one of them being a treasure. A brilliant scholar, Devaneya Paavanar had also written a few books in English and had knowledge of 23 languages, he said. Tamil scholars from different places would participate in the book release function, which would be organised by the Paavanar Foundation.
