TIRUCHI, DEC.4 . Over 1,776 computerised birth and death certificates have been issued by the Tiruchi Corporation since the system was introduced by the civic body in September 10, according to a Press release from the Corporation Commissioner, Harmander Singh. Applicants seeking certificates for already registered birth or death would be issued the same immediately on payment of the stipulated fee, while the certificates would be issued the next day for current unregistered birth and deaths, Mr.Singh said. Certificates for birth and deaths, prior to 1996, would also be issued the next day after payment of fee. Applicants need to pay only Rs.15 for the certificate and Rs.10 each for every additional copy. A fee of Rs.5 has to be paid for registration of the names of babies. Certificates would be issued from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on all working days and the applications could be submitted at any of the Corporation service centres at K.Abhishekapuram, Srirangam, Ariyamangalam and Golden Rock zones or the Corporation main office, the release added.
