Pondicherry clerks seek pay hike

PONDICHERRY, DEC. 5. The Pondicherry Ministerial Staff Federation has urged the Administration to raise the pay of the Lower Division and Upper Division Clerks as decided in 1997.

In a statement here, the federation secretary, K. Srinivasan, said a lower division clerk was drawing Rs. 3,050-4,590 and an upper division clerk Rs. 4,000-6,000, though the Administration decided in 1997 to pay the lower and upper division clerks Rs. 4,000-6,000 and Rs. 4,500-7,000.
