HYDERABAD, DEC. 5. Film actor G. Krishna on Sunday announced a series of documentary films aimed at improving awareness among people on the need for irrigation projects in the State. The first of such documentaries was shot at Padmalaya Studios. This would be followed by 26 films, all directed by Chandrasekhara Reddy of `Paadi Pantalu' fame, on each of the projects taken up by the Congress Government, he said. Asked if these documentaries could be construed as his second innings in politics, Mr. Krishna, a former MP, dismissed it saying there was nothing political about his endeavour. It was only a question of fair play.
`Nothing political'
The Congress Government was doing everything to improve the lives of the farming community and the rural economy in the State and it was his duty to support it, he said. Continuing on the "no politics" line, he said 75 per cent of the film industry generally had a tendency of being non-committal because the industry needed the help of whoever was in power. He said the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, had always been a friend and thanked him for the Government's efforts to combat piracy, which had a bearing on each and every member of the 24 associations in the film industry.
