PATHANAMTHITTA, DEC. 5. The police today deployed a company of Rapid Action Force (RAF) of the CRPF in different parts of the district identified as communally sensitive. The District Superintendent of Police, T. Chandran, told The Hindu that the RAF deployment was part of the security arrangements in view of the anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid in Uttar Pradesh and the call for observance of protest day tomorrow by certain organisations. He said 15 police pickets have been set up in the town limits, besides deployment of four patrol teams.
