Vamsi's century in vain

HYDERABAD, DEC. 5. V. Vamsi Ram's century (105, 15x4, 1x6) went in vain as Bharat School, Khammam, suffered an 80-run defeat against Bhavan's School in the inter-schools league cricket championship here on Sunday.

The scores: A-Institution: FCI 187 for nine (Ratnakar 56, Rajender 86, Ahmed Khan six for 49) lost to Hyd Bottling 189 for five (Sohail 60 not out, Imran 46).

A-Division (one-day): SUCC 87 lost to Apex CC 89 for four.

Schools league: Mahaboob College HS 189 (K. Chandrakanth 77, Alluri Abhinay six for 53) bt WMCC, St. Andrews, 103 (K. Chandrakanth four for 42). Bhavan's 287 for eight (Rahul Ranout 70, Sundeep Rajan 89, Kanishk Naidu 40, S. Abhista Rao four for 80) bt Bharat, Khammam, 207 for eight (V. Vamsi Ram 105).

B-Division: Victory CC 151 for nine (Md. Imran 51, Shaik Zaharullah four for 23, Narsing five for 16) lost to Vidyuth Soudha 153 (S. Kazmi four for 25).

C-Division: ML Jaisimha 92 lost to Picket 93 for five.
