Veterinary varsity at Gannavaram sought

MACHILIPATNAM, DEC. 5. The general body meeting of Krishna Zilla Parishad, that was held here on Sunday passed a unanimous resolution urging the State Government to accord permission for starting a veterinary university at Gannavaram instead of setting up the university at Tirupati. The meeting was presided over by N. Sudha Rani, ZP Chairperson.

The resolution was moved by G. Ramakrishna, vice-chairman and seconded by ZPTC member, P. Ramaiah.

Uproarious scenes were witnessed at the meeting with members belonging to the Congress and the Telugu Desam entering into heated debate over issues pertaining to G.O. No. 107 and release of water for second crop

The TDP ZPTC member, J. Mohan Rao, sought a discussion on the above issues but the move was opposed by G. Ramana, Prasad, and L. Tantiakumari of Congress. Several ZPTC members lashed out at the `indifferent' attitude of the Mandal Development Officers and Mandal Revenue Officers toward the elected representatives. P. Sampath Kumar, in-charge Collector, Krishna, assured that necessary instructions will be given to the concerned officers.
