Temperature

TIRUCHI, DEC. 5. The city today registered a maximum temperature of

29.7 degree Celsius and a minimum of 21.2 degree Celsius.

Service counter

The Indian Bank opened an exclusive service counter on the Municipal Corporation premises today to collect taxes.

Its Assistant General Manager, N.T. Srinivasan, issued the first receipt for the taxpayer.

The counter will remain open between 8.00 a.m. and 8.00 p.m. during the first fortnight of this month and between 9.00 a.m. and 8.00 p.m. thereafter.

Power cut There will be a power shutdown between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. in the following areas on Tuesday in view of maintenance work to be undertaken at the Somarasanpettai sub-station: Salai Road, Annamalai Nagar, N.S.B. Road, Super Bazaar, East and West Boulevard Roads, St. Joseph's College Road, Andar Street, Town Station, Babu Road, Sankaran Pillai Street, Chinthamani, Rockfort, Jeeyapuram, Pumping Station, Kambarasampettai, Thiruvanaikoil, and Srirangam.

Mettur level

The level in the Mettur dam stood at 100.01feet today.

The inflow was 3,555 cusecs and the discharge 8,000 cusecs.
