Citec plans Chennai centre

CHENNAI: Citec Information India, subsidiary of Finnish 26-million Euro technical documentation company Cite Information Oy AB (tech-writing), is looking at India as a potential business provider. Citec has set up its operation in India earlier this year for its global clients. Katriina Valli, Service Development Director, told The Hindu that the company was planning to set up a development centre in Chennai. At present, Citec has three centres in India - Bangalore, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Citec Information India has employee strength of 80 in India and hopes to grow by 150 next year. Citec Information India Managing Director, Vijay Kumar, said the firm had planned to triple its workforce over the next couple of years. In order to train prospective candidates, an academy in Bangalore had started a six-months course, he said. — Our Staff Correspondent
