CHENNAI: SPIC has won Environment Protection Award by the Fertiliser Association of India for 2003-04. The award is for recognition of pollution-abatement activities in its di-ammonium phosphate and phosphoric acid plants. The company had won the award in 2001-01 and 2001-02. The Association has presented another award to SPIC that ensures gypsum generated in the plants are used as a soil conditioner for agricultural lands and as a raw material in cement industries, says a release.
