Bidar
By Our Staff Correspondent
BIDAR, DEC. 7. Members of the Anyaya Virudha Horata Samiti staged a rasta roko here today demanding the installation of a new, life-size statue in place of the damaged bust of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in Pakkalawada extension in Bidar. The protesters blocked the Bidar-Malkapur Road for more than half an hour and shouted slogans against the Government. They submitted a memorandum urging the Government to change the statue immediately. They said that they had petitioned the Government to change the statue many times in the past. However, no action had been taken. Such inaction amounted to insulting the great leader, the memorandum said. The president of the samiti, Shamanna Bavgi, and other leaders led the protest.
