Foreign ship arrives at Krishnapatnam port

NELLORE,
DEC. 7.
After a gap of seven years, a foreign ship M.V. Macho has arrived at Krishnapatnam port near Nellore.
The ship, which arrived on Monday, will transport about 15,000 tonnes of iron ore available at the port to China.
Though foundation for the integrated port was laid more than a decade ago by the then Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, it did not achieve the expected pace of development.
In fact all these years, the port has virtually been written off, as it lacked the required infrastructure.
