ANANTAPUR, DEC. 7. The State general secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Medical and Sales Representatives Union, A.G. Rajmohan, alleged that the managements of pharmaceutical companies were not implementing the laws meant for sales promotion. Speaking to newspersons here today, he said that Sales Promotion Employees Act, 1976, Minimum Wages Act, Bonus Act, Workmen Compensation Act, Gratuity Act and other existing Acts were not being implemented. He demanded that the State and Central Governments inspect the pharma companies and punish the employers who violate the Acts.
Work hours
He stressed the need for specifying working hours and quantum of work to the employees. He also urged the Government to declare sales promotion as an industry under Section 2J (S) of the Industrial Disputes Act, in order to delink sales from service conditions. In support of their demands, the sales promotion employees under the aegis of APMSRU would take out a rally and stage a dharna in Hyderabad on December 13.
