Ricoh's India plans
By Our Staff Correspondent
CHENNAI,
DEC. 7.
Automation company Ricoh India Limited, after its merger with Gestetner India, has big plans, said Norifumi Fukuda, Chief of International Business (India and Asia Pacific Section). He said the Indian market for copiers was growing. It had greater business potential from financial institutions, insurance companies and corporates, he said.
Ricoh has been managing the existing facilities in India, after the takeover of Gestetner India in August. Ricoh has two production units in Kolkata and Gandhi Nagar.
The Kolkata plant caters to the low-end of the copier segment, while the Gandhi Nagar unit produces accessories.
Marc Shiratori, Vice President (Marketing and Services), Ricoh India, said the company would increase the channel partners. This year it was planning to spend Rs. 4-5 crores for promotional campaigns.
