Polaris' biometric software for banking

CHENNAI: Polaris Software Lab has developed software for biometrics authentication in banking. Biometrics authentication is based on optical fingerprint sensing technology, and Polaris will use it in its Identity and Access Management product called Intellect ARMOR. Biometrics is essentially identification of a user by measuring his/her unique human characteristics such as fingerprint and iris patterns. It is used extensively in forensic science, securing sensitive precincts, and also in a host of other business areas. In banking, biometric facilitates a secured environment for transactions. The solution is being showcased at the ongoing India Banking Summit in Mumbai.
