MANGALORE, DEC. 7. The seer of Pejawar Mutt, Udupi, Sri Vishvesha Theertha, today said that the Tamil Nadu Government should help Sankaracharya, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, lodged in Vellore jail on charges of his involvement in Shankararaman murder case, gets bail. He told presspersons at Kuthharpadavu, near here, that if that was not possible, it should lodge him in some appropriate place to facilitate him to perform daily puja and other rituals without hindrance. Sri Vishvesha Theertha expressed unhappiness at the way the Kanchi Acharya was treated in the murder case when it was yet to be established whether he was guilty or not. "Everyone is equal before the law. The law should take its own course." He was not questioning the law. But the treatment given to the Acharya was not fair, he said.
