KOLLAM, DEC. 7. The Kerala State Transport Project has reached an agreement with 663 families residing along the M.C. Road for acquiring the necessary land for its development. As per the agreement, 30.60 acres would be purchased from these families to widen the road to 10 meters. The purchase will be made from ten villages in the district at a cost of more than Rs. 10 crores. The agreement was reached after talks with the families by an ad hoc district level committee with the District Collector, B. Sreenivas, as the chairman.
