HYDERABAD, DEC. 7. The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has denied that there is powercut in rural areas. He said in reply to a question by Y. Ramakrishnudu (TDP) in the Assembly today that the powercuts were not imposed in urban areas either. His reply was tabled following the direction by the Speaker, K. R. Suresh Reddy. Responding to another question, Dr. Reddy said a new building was under construction in the MGM Hospital, Warangal, for conducting post-mortem. Tenders for erecting the mortuary building were being finalised and the work would be completed by February. He said, some irregularities were detected in the functioning of the Nature Cure Hospital at Ameerpet in Hyderabad. As one of the solutions to overcome difficulties, vacant posts were being filled immediately. In a written answer, the Minister for Rain-Shadow Area Development, M. Mareppa, said the Government had no proposal to set up a bio-diesel plant though it was trying to establish one under private sector. The Minister for School Education, N. Rajyalakshmi, stated that some manuscripts in Urdu, Arabic, Persian and other languages were damaged on account of water leakage in the Oriental Manuscripts Library & Research Institute. She sanctioned Rs 15 lakhs for repairs.
